Rebecca
Meletiadis, born in 20.08.88 in Germany, grew up in Greece where she started
her first flute classes. She participated in several
competitions acquiring the 1st price at the 'National Flute Competition' in Greece
(2002) and the 'National Youth Flute Competition' (2004). On a young age, she was
invited to join the 'Sofia Symphonic Orchestra' who played in
the archaeological amphitheatre of Philippi/Greece. Rebecca obtained her
“Master in Performance at the “LUCA School of Arts”/Leuven under the
supervision of Berten D’Hollander. She is extending her musical horizons with
jazz classes at the PJA-Grimbergen by Stefan Bracaval.
Rebecca is an active performer (with concerts in Greece,
Germany, Belgium, Portugal) with a particular interest in the engagement of
flute playing with the improvisatory creativity of her sister, Photini Meletiadis
on projects and stage. As a Suzuki Flute teacher, she is a member of the
“Suzuki Fluit Vlaanderen-vzw” association and has been invited as a jury member
several times at the “Jugend Musiziert” competition. She is teaching the flute at the “European School of Brussels” (EEB2).
